Call for Artists



This call is open to artists from Nigeria working on Environmental issues on all media. 


Environmental Art, An Awareness tools for Social Change, is aimed at challenging the artist to stop and take a considerable look around, from the mundane, the organic and inorganic, and see the real need for the massive social transformations that are essential, to adequately deal with such crises as the depletion of fossils fuels, climate change and breakdown of the ecosystem as a result of our actions and altitude to the environment.


WORKS: Artists producing innovative work in book arts, electronic/digital media (video, sound, animation, etc..), installation art, social practice, photography, performance art and printmaking are encouraged to submit works. selection  will be based on conceptual creativity, originality and artistic excellence as well as technical knowledge.
IICD, Will cover the cost of Transporting works to and fro.


EXHIBITION: The exhibition will be Catalogued, Three works of each artist will be selected.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be on the 19th April 2012 at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja and will run until the 22 April 2012 to commemorate the world international Earth Day. 


ARTIST GRANT: We have been able to secure a Grant of N30,000.00 each for participating Artists,( A SUPPORTS OF THE AMERICAN EMBASSY) to cover the cost of transporting works to and fro and for general production of works.
